Screenshot saving

A client has sent me an email which consists of a screenshot of a document. Is there a way of saving the document iteslef, not the email?

depends on your email client, with most you can just right click the image and save to your machine. Some will attach the image also to the email at the right or bottom left which then you can click to download.

I've tried that, but the menu comes up greyed out. I think it is forwarding a screenshot from someone else.

If you are using Windows 10 use the snipping tool. Type snip in the app finder.

I want just the document as it is needed as a document for a court case.

The document is much bigger than the screen, and the snip tool does not seem to accomodate that. Reducing the image to 25% still leaves bits missing,.

I will use the tried and tested method of asking the client to scan the document!

I use FireShot and it'll simply grab as much of your screen that you need. If you need to scroll down a lot then it'll automatically capture all the page or document for you. It's a freebie add-on here

The client would need to send the actual document and not a screenshot of a document -

Not sure why you can't save as image but I would print email, chose option print as pdf and save the file. Open pdf and from there you should be able to extract the image.

If right click doesn't work, try ctrl C, sometimes this does when right click is disabled. Otherwise find out where your computer caches your emails and retrieve it from there.

If used in court cases, then it makes no sense to recommend a screenshot. There must be scan copies. Copies must be certified. A screenshot and a photograph are just a picture. If you need a screenshot, then you can use the Lightshot plugin or program.

You can try to use the "print" option - you can save a file as a pdf and then edit it
Also, as Forseti told, you can just use Lightshot

loads of print to pdf software available, I have a paid for one with a lifetime license which I bought years ago. But do a google search for freeware print to pdf. Installs a virtual printer on your computer and then you print the email, select the virtual printer as the device and it will show that it's printing but open a pdf dialog box to save the pdf to.

Why would you do that? The OP uses Windows 10 and that comes with a PDF print driver alrady installed Most modern browsers will load and display PDF format files.
