Sandwich Round

Evening all,

Firstly I have all liscences required from council. But do I need permission to sell on the site?
I intend to try to sell sandwiches and salads, healthy snacks to a couple of local industrial estates near me. Just a couple of things that I could do with some advice on. Can I just turn up and go into the offices or stay in car Park early morning so that people see me and then hopefully buy something from me for their lunch. If so can I do this from my car, or do I need a Jiffy Van. I would cook the food that morning or night before so that it can be served cold.

The second is if I get a jiffy van to offer the food hot, can I served it there from the road/ land.

Hope this makes sense,
Rob

Even if I had a sandwich van? So would be there for half Hour or so?

Sounds quite like 2ufood (google them). Pretty sure they asked the local businesses whether they could pull up outside their offices and serve lunches for 30 minutes before popping onto the next. Don't think they minded too much as the nearest shop was about a 10 minute drive.

Disclaimer: this is entirely observational so I'm not entirely sure how they went about it.

If it’s private land then yes. If someone wanted to sell smoothies from your front garden to passers by for 30 minutes a day, you’d want them to ask you first.

There could be all sorts of reasons why they wouldn’t want you there - their insurance may not cover food vans, they may already have someone serving food everyday that is paying them rent for the pitch etc.

Definitely ask in advance - if you want to build a good business relationship with them, it’s best to start off on the right foot.

Along with every other van already doing this. A place nearby now has 7 different vans throughout the day. None stay longer than a few minutes.
