Sample GDPR Privacy Policy for Newsletter Signup

Hi there,

I am launching a new website and have a landing page that has an email sign up on that users can complete to be notified when the website is launched.

I understand GDPR but and fairly new to implementing it.

Can anyone tell me or suggest a sample privacy policy for my newsletter sign up form and what I need to include in it?

How are you protecting the data? What will you be doing with the data once the website has launched?

All you need to include in your policy is answers to the above.

As an aside, why even bother. Very few people will even bother to sign up and those that do will have forgotten about you by the time you do launch. Marketing an landing page is a waste of resources. Far better to wait until you have something to show people.

A Privacy Policy is one element of data protection compliance, and as stated above you need to understand commercially what data you are collecting and why, as this will form part of the policy. You should consider if the website (even just the landing page) will use cookies and whether these will collect any personal data.

There will be data protection specialists that are able to provide you with a template that meets the legal requirements, but it will need input from the business on the commercials.
