I use Sage V12, but my accountant is on V10 atm, are the backup files backwards compatible ?

If not whats the best way of getting my accounts to him so that he can import it ?

I think, cant be sure though that Sage introduced backward compatibility for the first time in V12 so you may be lucky. Only way to really know will be to do it!

Other options, well Sage does install a read-only ODBC driver so you can extract data from Sage if you are technically inclined but then you would have to put it into the required format. I wrote an export wizard a while back which will extract the bulk of what you need but I cant remember off the top of my head if it does all transactions and ledgers.

Might be cheapest if he upgrades! Most accountants I know run multiple versions of Sage to accomodate their clients requirements

The simple answer I'm afraid is no V12 is not backwardly compatible with v10.

Your accountant needs to upgrade or perhaps get your data manually:D
