Hi

For the last tax year I have been using HMRC Basic Tools Free Software, I do the payroll for a Cleaning Company. I went to do his end of year return and it said I couldn't as there was over 9 employees.

As is it a cleaning company employee's come and go like buses!!

I am now looking to to purchasing some software so that that he is compliant with RTI, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced one that has no limit on the number of employee's?

Don't know the actual answer but always assumed HMRC programmers needed 1 finger for typing & so couldn't count past 9.

In all seriousness, assumed it was because 10 is two digits so the next logical stop point after 9 is 99 - not exactly small employer then....

OP, Bright Pay UK has full RTI functionality and is very reasonbly priced at £89. you can download the full program for a trial period from the website brightpay.co.uk

But in computer speak, data is normally held in hexadecimal format, so after 9 comes A, B, C, D, E, F (10-15) before a second digit is added so that 10 = 16 :D Even in binary 9 is 1001 and the next turning point is 10000 - 16.

My firm uses MoneySoft and I've personally used it for a very long time - it works very well indeed and I highly recommend it.

In fairness I've not tried/tested the competition for a little while as I find MoneySoft so good.

I would agree as my firm uses Moneysoft too and i have had no complaints at all
