Roman Cart issues

How annoying, just tried roman cart (as recommended in my earlier post Urgent help needed), which is not as easy as it looks as there are no clearly laid out dummies start up pages!

Got all my buttons in, only to find that all I can accept is cheque payments unless I upgrade for £40.00!

Which shopping carts are free? I would like to accept paypal and worldpay (if thats free)

Roman Cart allows you to hold your stock details, and item codes for your website, receiving payment is separate issue.

Paypal sign up is free, you pay through transaction charges also you can use their cart or Roman Cart which ever you find easiest.

If you wanted to use WorldPay it would cost you lots of money per month i think, i'd suggest stick with the free options such as paypal and nochex.

Worldpay is approx £350 - £500 to setup, then approx £170 per year to run, they charge approx 4.5% on credit card transactions and 50p on debit card transactions and hold your money from 2 to 4 weeks before payment.

(we use Worldpay but put through literally 1000's of transactions so it proves worthwhile - and we've got a better deal every 6 months)

Thanks for your help. After posting here I went to worldpay and then had an anurism!

I am sticking to paypal for now, I know everyone keeps bandyin around about sites looking unprofessional who use it, but I think if I integrate it wel into my site, with plenty of T'S & C's and ways to contact me/testimonails it should suit my needs till I hit the bigtime!

Claire I too thought worldpay was OTT.

Remember we are artists selling our own work and not trying to project an image that we are a corporate, PayPal is for me.

Here here william! I think we need to get UKBF to cut back on the paypal bashing, or else it will start to get us a bad name on the site!

I like what you have done with your site Claire, the paypal buttons work a treat, and much easier to navigate as well.

I'm almost live with my osCommerce site via paypal did a few transaction tests and all worked well.

I find the only trouble is only being able to add UK postage to your profile so if an international person wants to purchase they still have to e-mail me for an invoice. Very annoying.

It should be more like eBay, where you can state your Uk, EU and non EU prices
