Anyone know or used a reputation management company? If you want something removed from a website about you. Or just your address taking off a website that is ranking in Google. I think they contact the web host with a formal letter. And/or request it is removed under Google's new policy.

Any advice from anyone would be very much appreciated!!

There might be somebody on here that does it but I am not aware of them .

As already said nothing gets removed but they write good things about your company on blogs ect ,service reviews and and basically push the bad news to the third page and beyond .

You need to stop worrying though Sherbert ! All press is good press that is what I always say :)

Indeed, but if someone then Googles 'sherbetdipdab address', the other website will be back at the top again.

Plenty of PR firms will do this but it can be expensive, depending on the work required.

For personal info you can submit a 'right to be forgotten request'. I am not sure how this covers business users, if at all, but information is easily available....

It is worth bearing in mind that a lot of business have cheap hosting accounts and are of very little value to their hosting providers who will gladly throw them under the bus at the merest hint of legal action.

Send a simple request to the offending website owner and a copy to his host and it's likely you'll get a favourable result.

Yes, but your address is not considered 'personal info'. Neither is your name or the names of your family. In any case, this isn't a reputation management issue.

Thank you all for your input :)

The site is an old site I must have added my personal number to by mistake years ago. It's no longer maintained and I can't get in touch with them at all. I worked out who the host is and contacted them. They pretty much weren't interested unless it was a legal case and we sent them a legal letter.

    Seen this thanks: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/legal-removal-request?complaint_type=rtbf&hl=en&rd=1
I have no experience in filling this in. Maybe a solicitor does?
