Why would your client want you to do this type of survey? no-one's going to say a grubby venue wouldn't effect their choice about whether to use/recommend it/spend money there. Of course it will. Why didn't you tell him the obvious....he doesn't need to do a survey to find this out...

It is obvious. It's common sense. The results of that survey will be near enough the same across the board.

The only reason I can see for it is if it regards an oldschool pub setting. I'm sure some of you remember whst they were like. I prefer clean places myself.

Would expect the research to yield results similar to that from FMJ:
    http://www.fmj.co.uk/hygiene-standards-drive-revenue-reputation-retail-hospitality-sectors/

They found that, "Global research finds hygiene is vital to customers’ return visit:

    • Restaurants: 88% admit hygienic washroom facilities are an important factor in returning
    • Cafés: 48% admit to not returning to a restaurant or café because of poor hygiene standards
    • Hotels: 24% admit to not returning to a hotel for the same reason
    • Retail stores: Over 18% admit to not returning because of poor levels of hygiene facilities"

Brilliant - and that is exactly what it's for - statistical soundbites for an article based around the impact of cleanliness on profit in the hospitality sector.

The answers are obvious and the questions are loaded for a reason - some stats were needed to add to the piece.

    Thanks for the input all.
