Is it recommended to add links to related blog posts at the bottom of product category pages?

Not really. You want them to buy the product not read a blog post.

You need related posts on the blog and obviously links to the products but there is little value in adding these to category or any other pages.

Also worth considering the value of your blog. Do they rank and drive traffic to the site? If not why are you bothering?

No I would not recommend this. As stated above it's best for your product pages to focus on products not a blog. A blog could be used to get traffic to your site but once they are there you want them to take action.

I would include related products, or people who bought this also purchased...

On your blog pages you should include links to your products etc. Cross linking this way is more beneficial.

I agree with the other comments. The point of blogs is two-fold
1) to attract new potential customers and backlinks
2) to provide supporting content for your categories / products and utilise internal links to pass link equity to them.
