Regain serp ranking

How to regain my serp ranking? Before my site is at # 1 on the result page of Google but now it's down to #5 position?

I hate it when I give advice to someone but if it's happening to me I don't know what to do.:|

What have you done? Have you changed anything on the site, added new pages, carried out any link building?

Perhaps the 4 people in front of you are working harder on there seo?

Remember google rankings are like investments they can go up as well as down and google will not be held responsible for any change - bit like the bloody banks!
