Oh yes that does help and I think you're right. It does depend on what is being sauced, and in turn the level of 'sauciness' required.

Although, do you reckon that choice of sauce is subconsciously dictated by political persuasion?

Like, sometimes I worry that I may end up voting Labour because if I run out of brown sauce I sometimes used ketchup with my bacon sangers.

I take it by red you mean tomato? haha

I have to say neither. Tomato sauce is boring (granted pretty much every other sauce has tomatoes in it). Brown sauce doesn't add any flavour.

I am more BBQ sauce (and variants) and Worcester Sauce doesn't go amiss too with certain stuff.

So I cannot vote for either.

It's a crap software glitch! It won't let me vote for both!

Steve, I would say it depends very much on what's being 'sauced'.

For instance, a dash of red sauce does wonders for a beef & cockle smoothie whereas I do love lashings of brown sauce with my home-made rice pud.

Hope this helps :)

check the sauce code.

Anyway red beats brown everytime. So versatile in cooking.

Think the depends is definitely correct. See sausage sangers brown is wrong. But sausage and bacon and its the best thing since sliced bread.

In a posh(ish) hotel a few years back we had a buffet breakfast with 'Oxford sauce'.

It was like a richer version of brown sauce and really amazingly lovely.

Haven't been able to find it since.

Posh twit! Next you will tell us you wear a monocle and top hat.

Ahh, cmon guys, HP does not make a bacon sandwich, neither does other sauce!

This comment is an outrage, You need to be put on trial by the sauce police and put on trial from crimes against breakfast baps

Get some decent bacon, some lovely fresh bread and a good tasting butter/spread... you don't need any sauce, what is the point of masking the bacon taste!? A nice cup of coffee to wash it down with :)

Oh yes. Decent coffee is a MUST too. In fact I cant eat my boiled egg and soldiers without coffee, it feels wrong.

Kind of like eating fish and chips without peas! It should be made a criminal offence to sell fish n chips without mushy peas.

Personally, I think you're all nuts!

Bacon butties with sauce?!! WTF Guys C'mon... Bacon isn't Bacon unless it's Smoked!

The crap that is served all over the country which is incorrectly called "Bacon" should be renamed Hot Ham.

Personally, I prefer Smokey Bacon with cheese, pickled onion, black pepper and salad cream.

So ner! ;)
