Recycling Mobile phones for cash

Hi

another mobile phone recycling site worth checking out is rpcrecycle dot com - like the others they offer you cash for your redundant mobile phones but here the prices seem to be higher than other sites. They have a dedicated business team for larger orders where they offer free collection and instant payment!!

worth a look - :)

i just found it hassle going through ebay though. having to go through their listing procedures, answering questions and paying crazy fees I found all very time consuming all for not a great deal more cash. This company paid me good money & all within a couple of days. Just wanted to voice my satisfaction in their service that was all. :)

For a basic listing on ebay, it costs £0.00
You get 1 free picture, in which you can put a few pictures if you for example take one of the front of the phone, one of the back and then using photoshop, or even MSPaint, put then into one image.
After this, its simple to type a quick description of you're phone, inc model, make, how old ETC.

I sold my old samsung U600 on ebay for £26.45.
This doesnt seem much for a phone which cost me £79.99, but the recycle site offered around £6.50

Which would you choose?

i'd choose ebay, the extra £19.95 makes all the "hassle of listing" worth while :) i'd rather give it to a charity shop than get a poxy £6.50 for it tbh, when recycle sites buy at pennies and resell it at a huge mark up figure!!!!

Hi

I run a comparison site for recycling mobiles and the top price for a Samsung U600 is £25 from fonebank, least given for it is 17.05 from Sell Old Mobile's,

http://www.compare-mobile-recycling.co.uk/browse/Samsung/U600

the only way you got quoted £6.50 is for the none working price, which seems to be the right price. eBay is ok for sure, but it is definately easier to get a postage paid envelope through the post and mail off your phone to a recycler and it usually takes about 5 days for the whole process and to get your cheque or vouchers back to you.

I probably should have looked around a bit more, as I found:

what a great idea for a comparison site - nice one!

There are so many comparison sites now, how about a comparison site for comparison sites LOL

Seriously, great stuff, thanks

:D now there is a thought ;)

when I set out on developing a recycling comparison site (Dec 08) the niche was tiny... BUT the developer I had back then dragged his feet so much the site which should have gone live in early Feb, went live a couple of weeks ago. In the meantime other sites have appeared which I didn't want to see, but there you go.

Hi there. I know what you mean. I set up a site a little while ago that reviews mobile phone recycling sites and lists their features and benefits and compare them against each other. Since doing it though I have seen more and more sites like this starting up where people are affiliates for the recyclers. Some pretty much say the same thing and just link you to the sites but it's good to see one like your with the comparison tool you have. I used a mobile phone price comparison tool on sellyourmobile.info.

I use mazuma for all my mobile recycling you get a cheque sent throgh within a week depending on how fast you send your mobile
Yeah Mazuma are not bad but there is a bit of choice out there. Some recyclers pay in different ways that Mazuma don't pay by and some offer different amounts for mobiles compared to other recyclers too. There are quite a few new ones now. MobileCashComparison.com, CashForMobiles.info and more all worth checking out before you use one.

Simply disposing of old or unwanted mobile phones can be harmful to the environment as there is the potential for considerable toxic contamination caused by these substances leaking into the surrounding environment. The company 'Turn On Your Mobile' also have a recycling scheme where you can exchange your mobile phones for cash.
