Recommended hosting for Shopify store - but not shopify themselves

I am looking for advice / recommendations for fast but reasonably cost effective hosting for a shopify store but without using Shopify themselves?

The reason for that is to do with emails and shopify being limited on needing to use Zoho or Gsuite for management which I don't want to do in this instance.

The domain is currently registered at Heart internet but never used their hosting, is it any good?

What other recommendations do people have?

The store itself wouldn't be huge or intensive, it is more for offering a B2C customer presence to complement the wholesale.

Please don't recommend other web platforms as I have made the decision on Shopify for various reasons.

Shopify is a platform, you can't host it anywhere else.

You can get your email accounts from any hosting provider including Gmail. We provide dedicated email hosting for lots of people using Shopify.

What you are asking is not possible.
Shopify is only available ... well, on Shopify. You cannot install it on another hosting provider, except if you are thinking of using their Buy button feature, which can be plugged into any other website.

Why would you not want to host your site on Shopify?

Most of the themes are mobile-friendly (not just responsive) and Shopify servers are lightening quick and never go down.

Unless you want some serious custom functionality, it's the best out there for a small business.

So don't use their email system. You appear to not have a problem with using a shopify site and the suggestion by nahosting appears to resolve email.

You made the decision to use Shopify, say hello to a closed system you do not own, can not control or modify yourself and cannot be moved away from the owners. You are stuck using their servers, their services and completely at their control.

But you can use external email as others have pointed out, but would need someone who knows how to do that to help you set that up.

Can I ask what pushed you to shopify instead of the dozens of other ways to sell stuff online?

As you have already taken your decision for using Shopify, you're now stuck with a close-ended system, which can't be altered or controlled. There's no possible way to host it with a different web-host service.

That is like saying I want my Mini to look like a Range Rover but not willing to move away from a Mini. If you want a website hosted by someone else then you should look at a another platform. If you want to stick with Shopify then you are going to have to come to terms with the website being hosted by Shopify itself. Alex

As above the website needs to be hosted with Shopify as it is their hosted platform (same goes for the likes of SquareSpace and Weebly). The domain, DNS and email can all be hosted elsewhere so if you have an issue using their email options just find another email provider and change the DNS to point to them.
