Reach Local

Hi I have been contacted by a rep from Reach Local, they sing their praises, but I hadn't heard of them before. Has anyone any experience of them and how they work.

Many thanks

Thanks for that, I did a Google search as you suggested and wow. Seems like they just take your money for not much return. I did have my doubts about them, but thought I would ask.

Conclusion: I won't be signing with them

Hi i'm quite new to this so not sure if i posted correctly but couldnt help see your post about Reach Local.
I also had a call from these guys and a meeting a couple of months ago, to my surprise they actually highlighted a lot of these negative reviews on google during our meeting and said they had about 30,000 live campaigns (something like that) and that the reviews were from a handful of unhappy customers and some previous employees. I was very sceptical but after he also showed me about 5 or 6 testimonials and left me two or three current customers to call and let me make my own decision I thought I would give it a shot and if it was a con or a rip off i would just cancel my DD after the first month. I figured ive nothing to lose.
I have to say the service has been very good, I got lots of leads from it in the first month, about 30ish calls and 20 emails, we are now half way through second month and ive already had the same amount as last month.
They have been in to see me three times since i signed to go through the service and to make sure i am happy, the software they have is really clever and im delighted with it.
Just thought id let you know my experience.

@Data Dealer - how about some more info.

1) how long have you been with them? - you say this was 2nd month
2) what did you get from it? 30 calls 20emails
3) what did you pay? - you said you had nothing to lose - so i assume you paid nothing?
4) You say the software they have is very clever - How do you know?
5) the reviews is a big mystery to me - how did they know they were your employees - surely you didnt need them to know this?

Sounds like another PPC reseller like lavora marketing

Ha Ha - I was being a bit politer - But just on the off chance Data Dealer is a real person/company  - if his/her campaign is as wonderful as they say, let them pass on some detail for everyone to scrutinise.
Lets see what they have provided you (datadealer) and asses it - Otherwise you have just made it look like Reach Local is a Con and you created a fake account to trick people into using the service.

Well......

My story so far, I know the sales rep in my area looks at this forum but I will be open and honest. I have another meeting next week with them to drill down more as I have not had chance to go over the email and digest what was said in the first meeting till now as been so busy.

This is a statement from the email:

"ReachLocal is the world’s largest Internet Advertising Company for local businesses. We partner with all the Major search engines and ensure that local businesses like yours are connected with consumers that are searching for your business. We connect you with people that are searching for your product or service but don’t know who you are.

No-one else in the UK has the technology that we do and can offer you peace of mind on your investment with the transparency of our reporting, we can monitor the cost daily and judge best performance on a cost per lead basis through the recorded calls, emails and online bookings. We can help with other areas like Google places and social media.

As discussed please give me a call in the next couple of days to discuss further and arrange a trial."

My costs are:
£600.00 Per month
Management of 10% Per Month
1 Off Setup Fee of £199.00
Projected 20 leads a month

I tend to think that the per month cost is high for something I have to sign to for 6 months for something that I am unsure if it would work for me.

Also the 10% management fee is on top of the £600.00 per month fee.

I am tempted to get some customers and call them and see what they say.

If you ever come across a Reach Local client send them this email that i have just started sending to their global database, which i have!!!!
"
Are you paying Reach Local a commission of 60% ? Most of their clients are and don't know it !

Hi
If you believe you are only paying 10% for their service then this will likely come as a shock to you.

To check how little of your current PPC marketing budget is actually being spent on advertising costs by Reach Local.

- You need to log-in to your Reach Local account, press REPORTS then proceed and press ADDITIONAL REPORTS on the left hand side which will show you a drop down menu.

- Select DISTRIBUTION DETAILS and then click EDIT FILTERS on the left hand side of the page for you to refine the report by Campaign, Month and Year.

- Click UPDATE REPORT and you will be routed to a page that will show the actual advertising expenses.

Google requires all resellers to make this detail available in order to help prevent the deceptive practice of secretly pocketing a percentage of the marketing budget in addition to management fees without disclosing this charge.

Most likely your Google advertising costs will be 50% of what you believed you were getting in marketing. In other words you are most likely paying 60% of your entire marketing budget or more to Reach Local when other provides charge 10% for the same service. This makes it very difficult to compete, especially when your competitors are getting the same exposure for 50% of what it is costing you.

Google charges the same for everyone and does not pay any commissions worldwide.

To discuss how we can give you three times the return on your current investment through a combination of organic search and paid search using your current budget call me on the number below or send me an email."

This is the most most dishonest business i have ever come across. 80% of their turnover is from commission their clients are paying yet have no idea. This equates to a $400,000,000 a year fraud.

Let's send these cowboys back to Huston Texas where they come from.

We too had a call from ReachLocal few years back - forget what the exactly numbers were for traffic delivery, but I think was about 5k per month, which we got ourselves anyway for free.

the software they have is really clever

why would a PPC management oufit need software? Besides, they have some impressive credentials - Fast Track 500 Co - wow!
