Rant about plagiarism

Had this unsolicited email today, out of the blue, from someone who wants to write articles for my website:

Hello,

I am a freelance writer, link builder and SEO expert. I have a great
flair for writing and can provide original and plagiarism proof
articles on any topic. The content will be thoroughly researched
to ensure accurate information. ....

The first warning sign was that it is signed Linda White and the email address is a .co.in. Agreed, it's not impossible there's a Linda White in India.

But then doing a quick search online reveals that this email about writing "plagiarism proof" articles is ...entirely nicked! The copy, word for word, appears multiple times on the web with different authors names and going back half a decade.

I refuse even to enter dialogue with any Indian company if their representative has an English name on the basis that if they are willing to be dishonest about something as simple as their own name then why should I trust them about more important things

I guess being born in India and being given a Christian name at birth makes me less suspicious in these cases, but I get where you're coming from.

We get a lot of these too, from a range of people all around the world - UK/US/everywhere. A good trick, if they have an image, is to Google Image search their picture as I have found one or two to be stock images! Not very trustworthy.

If you do find they are spammy, after some research,, my solution is 'Options' > 'Add to Spam' > 'Delete'

It's spam, it happens. If it slips through filters, I simply mark the message as spam and move on.

How can something be "plagiarism proof" in any case? Unless of course it is totally locked down to preventing scraping etc.

Apparently, Linda White seems to be quite popular spammer name. We got an email from a certain "Linda White, Business Development Executive" in January saying that their company did an SEO audit on our website and concluded we are "currently losing out on a lot of traffic and could potentially be generating significantly more" and, of course, offering their marketing services.
Just click "Delete" and move on.

I get quite a few of these. I particularly love the ones that tell me they'll provide accurate, proofread content (er, I'm a content writer myself, but thanks) and the email is littered with typos... Into the spam-box with you.
