Hello everyone!
I'm in a big trouble. I have to improve SERPs of a website in few days as per my client requirement. I know it will take time to improve it but can anyone of you share his/her experience of improved SERPs in short time? Please reply me.
Regards

If you find a way, can you only let me know, as I want the advantage all to myself.

There is NO magic trick to boost you in the SERPS, it doesn't work that way, you would need a crazy amount of content to do this effectively. eg: 50'000 pages plus!

You wouldnt even be able to automate something like that:

Once you automate (auto submit) content, it goes out of control, the content will end up on every untargeted site imaginable, and thats no good from a sales point of view.

I've used an auto submit program before, and it was hellish, all these things do is attract spam. And your content will be on silly junk websites.

Steer clear of automated content - my advice is do something virally....

Go back and tell your client that it will take longer than a few days,

Ps if you are asking an Seo forum how to get sites up fast then your employer has obviously employed the wrong person and he will get the rankings that shall follow which is none in that time scale, and if you agreed to this then yes you will be in trouble, if you want to get up the rankings fast do some PPC Instant results (as long as you keep paying for those results

I guess your 'few days' is up. How did it go?

Google generally 'credits' links to sites somewhere from 3-14 days after crawling the link. Good links can make a website leap in the SERPs. For example a few months ago I was tasked with the job (during a free trial) of promoting a new site selling iPad accessories. One of the keywords to be targeted was 'ipad accessories' - of which we achieved a top 10 spot within about a week - where he was previously about #250!

The customer decided he didn't want to pay for our services (not cheap & I guess he thought if we could do it so easily and quickly - he probably could or at least someone cheaper could... I think we might see him again!) and he no longer ranks so well for that reasonably high competition keyword.

Yes you can make big differences in a short time... with good links.

Worst thing to do is make a promise that you cannot possibly keep or do not have the ability to keep.
Your client is also a fool to believe in a quick fix.

Fully agree. No good for trust, reputation, stress levels, etc.

Loads of SEO companies hide behind, "no guarantees" & "it takes time" when the contract is signed - after being big on the sales talk and high figures!

I don't even want customers that I can't be confident of making a good return and see evidence of a good return during the trial. The last thing I want is someone struggling to make the money to pay me - never mind making a healthy profit.

Under-promise & over deliver - makes for a happy client (hopefully!)

A lot of article submission, blog comments, press release submission. This will work good.
Guess this is why the Indian spam factories have such a cruddy reputation.

Noting Spam, article marketing and press release submission is one of biggest way to get your self better in SERP
No it's not don't be silly.

The quickest way to imporve your ranking is to create a really great website that meets all the google guidelines and pick up lots of referral links.

pick up lots of referral links.

Can you really see biz websites picking up any decent links - I can't.

B2b links swaps, but thats about all they'll get. These aren't powerful web portals dont forget, so their of no importance to the heavy traffic drivers of the web, who want £300 a link.

Besides, the only ones doing the links swaps are the desperate startups with no web presence, but those links are pointless as the sites dont have any traffic yet.

well there is only one method which can improve your serp's quickly and its "blog commenting". find out a list of high PR do follow blogs and start commenting with leaving your target keyword in the name and anchoring it with your website. Than wait for a couple of days and see the magic.

Very true - that's why there are no business websites is search results.

You are such a bore.

Well, I was talking about 2 sites linking with each other, so I dunno what you're babbling on about. But its not anything you can do much about anyway as the web is out of your control, so anything you got to say or wish for - is irrelevant.

People that think they can control and manipulate the SERPS to incredible advantage - oh dear. I'm going to explain this to you once - the SERPS are Free!, they aren't going to give you the world for nothing, bcos a search engine's aim is to get you to pay for adverts, so its very unlikely you will get amazing results and if they allowed this, the websites would never pay and the engines will lose out.

The 2nd proof is top keywords which earn millions of clicks eg: Travel @ 1,760,000,000 means that 99.9% cannot rank for it, bcos that keyword cost too much to maintain or own.

The 3rd proof is there's only 10 ranking positions available for each page, and the amount of business websites in the world, cannot physically fill/own a top SERP position - there's too many sites and too few pages. This is a fact! And those sites must sit in order in the SERP pages, they cannot all be No1 or in the top 10 :(

Even if you had the cash and matched what Expedia spend monthly, you'd never beat them, mainly as their website is top notch and has 'standing' so it will always be higher.

The 4th bit of proof is Links - and as directories often beat biz websites in the rankings, they obviously have more links and many more pages, often in the thousands, which funnily enough generate clicks, which is a ranking factor when judging how high a website sits in the SERPS.

So a website with 10'000 pages of useful content, must outrank some ordinary biz website, as its an a authority, has a ton of content, likely gets thousands of links and is clicked on more, which results in a large boost in the SERPS.

But if you think you can beat such sites, your very welcome to try it. But you'll never beat the best sites and that's all there is to it. I can prove this easily..

I also have a bunch of 2 week old sites which are out ranking expedia, cheapflights etc etc all of them.

So your beating Cheapflights - a hitwise No1 website award winner for the keyword 'Cheap Flights'? well, unless you own the comparison site Skyscanner.net, I dont think you are somehow.

I'm not talking about the crappy longtail keywords here, as thats easy, any fool can do that. No, to prove your somebody on the web, you need to be outranking the top websites, and I doubt your claims.

Thank you all for your suggestions and spending time to help me out. I cant go to PPC because of my client's budget. Article submission, blog posting, blog commenting, forum posting are all old ways and takes a lot of time. The reason of asking quickest way was to save time and to know the latest tricks that people are performing these days. I found something new that i wasnt doing before. Now i'm working on yahoo answer questions, though i takes time also but drive traffic to website. try it :)
