Public Liability Insurance...

Hi all,

Trying to figure this out; but thought maybe someone with more experience could answer.

Attempting to categorise my side-business after-school and holiday-club (STEM/Computing related) for liability insurance; whenever I categorise and input what it is - the website of multiple providers automatically pops it in to a "Not For Profit"; which isn't true, it is for profit.

Am I missing something? What else could I categorise it but an after-school club, or club etc.

Thanks,
Deaytch

Child care? Education?
Thank you, I did try these - but figured because I wasn't actually looking after the children per-say (I know I still have wider responsibilities etc.) but not a child-care setting or a school I tried to avoid them.

May be best if I rang up and checked to see what they would suggest. Don't want to get it wrong for them to come back at a later stage and have issues with it. I want to get it right from the start.

I'll rephrase - it is a club between one to two hours.
I'm cautious of using a "child care" keyword because to me, that makes it sound like a nursery.

Whilst, obviously, I will have a duty of care including (and not limited to) safeguarding; I am not a child care provider in the way that I understand those words.

I would much rather it be categories more specifically or more towards after-school club because I don't have to be registered with Ofsted (like child care providers do) etc.

    Hi @Deaytch ,

If you are trying to "fit" on an online off the shelf insurance quote system - your best bet is to try for "education services" as this is probably the closest and most appropriate for your business. You are trying to teach kids after all!

However, rather than trying to "fit" I would suggest speaking to an independent insurance broker who can speak directly to potential insurers/providers based on your specific business and insurance needs.

Happy to help if you would like to have a chat - contact details below.
