I made this post a while ago but never got an answer I am setting up a new company that will be manufacturing alot of equipment for reptiles from thermostats and heaters to fake plants and water bowls.

What protection do I need to make this work? trade marks etc.. and to stop my self being sued if for example my heaters break a cook some ones snake.. also do I NEED to be a registered company?

what are the costs involved?

I have no idea personally, I would recommend getting in touch with your local Business Link, they were very helpful when I set up and gave me advice on sole traders, partnerships, Ltds etc.
