Hello,

I am casting an eye over the level of difficulty of creating a Wordpress based property website. Some live sites I see are very function rich whilst others are simple but, most importantly, are functional none the less. Whether they use Wordpress or another CMS is another matter...

Research so far has led me to Property Hive. UK based.

Anyone used them for website creation or used the plugin's they offer ?

I understand that wordpress plugins can be used to 'format' properties on a website then import said properties into the Zoopla & Rightmove portals. I would need to shell out for the appropriate plugin's and also satisfy the registration requirements with the appropriate portals.

Am I right on that ? After configuration do the appropriate plugin's do all the ' heavy lifting ' in this regard ? Anyone any real life experience on using these plugin's ?

Thanks..

Why not create a list of requirements and ask for quotes?

Property hive is ok but their business model is to get you to pay for add-ons. Right move for example is £199 and they don't appear to support zoopla.

But it's only £49 so it not going to break the back if you discover you don't like it. I've installed it for a couple of clients and they seem to like it, one of them needed about £600 of add-ons to do everything they wanted. The expensive bit are the rightmove fees, the estate agent who managed our move was paying around £1000/month (if I remember correctly).

Thanks for your reply... correct - there is a list of paid add on's to consider however I think it would be best to start simple, check the feedback and revise accordingly; no point in swamping a visitor with information. As you say, it's a small outlay so if it does not work out then c'est la vie. Thanks...

    Hi csjm,

Steve from Property Hive here. Thanks for considering Property Hive for your property website. Hopefully through this forum or other means I can show the benefits of using our plugin.

I've included below just a few reasons why we feel we would be a good option for you:

    - Our plugin is installed on 500+ WordPress sites
    - We have only 5* reviews. You can read these on the WordPress plugin repository (I can't post links at present)
    - We're shortlisted as a supplier for the Negotiator awards being announced next Tuesday
    - We're UK Based
    - Our core plugin and theme is free and open source, meaning it's been vetted and contributed to by developers across the world.

Regarding costs, as mentioned in a previous post, the core plugin and theme is free and then you just pay for the add ons you require. Someone mentioned that we don't support Zoopla but we do. We have an add on called 'BLM Export' which'll feed to them and many other portals.

As for layout, we have our own free theme available on our site which enables you to get a site up and running with no requirement to do any coding. You can change all colours, logos etc through WordPress. Or, if you wanted to use your own theme or have something extra, we have an integration service available where we can take care of any bespoke functionality for you.

I hope that's enough to get you started but by all means let me know if there are any other questions. Always happy to have an initial consultation call also if that would help.

    Steve
