Hi all, we're looking to launch our website and have a few ideas in the pipeline about how to start getting ranked well in google.

We have a blog section on our website which we will add at least 2 new blogs per week. These will be advertised partially on facebook with a link to the blog on our website.

Along with this, we will be holding facebook competitions to win particular products relating to our business where customers like and share the post to enter the competition.

Our main aim is to concentrate on the social media side of advertising through promotions / competitions etc although what other means of advertising would you go for?

We're looking to spend the majority of our marketing budget per month of social media (currently around £300 per month)

We're happy to put the time in this if other time consuming methods will help such as adding our blogs to blog websites or anything like that.

All help and ideas will be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Kind regards,

Ryan,

Your planning is good as well as to give more importance to social media is also good to rank well for the website in the search engine because now especially Google gives importance to social signals. But for that you should be written the quality, fresh and unique content for your website. Because if content is qualitative then it will become easy to get social signals through number of likes, comments and share.

Including social media advertisement, you should also submit your advertisement with quality content in high quality classified ads this will also help to increase traffic on the website/webpage.

Quality links are still a primary ranking factor, and although social media should not be overlooked I think you would benefit from having an inbound link acquisition strategy in place. This could include content based link acquisition strategies, pursuing opportunities that exist with your suppliers and customers, and a number of other approaches. Also don't overlook G+ as a social platform, Google created this platform because it wanted unhindered access to social metrics, so why not use this to your advantage?

As far as your outlined strategy it is hard to advise any further since you give no indication of your business vertical and the levels of competition within you industry.

Regular blog posting is an excellent method, it provides regular fresh content which is good.

Try to keep the blog posts informative and interesting and not commercial in nature and as already mentioned link the blog to your social media, so that it can be shared.

You may want to also consider repurposing your content, which in essence means utilising the basis of your blog posts for other forms of web content such as infographics and presentations, which can then be submitted to various high profile sites. This can also provide backlinks as well as providing additional exposure.

Many are looking at increasing exposure through alternative means such as visual style sites, eg Youtube etc to ensure that Google, as it does occassionally, cannot cause issues if it changes its algo.

Hi all,

Many thanks for the replies.

We look to write the blogs on our website and then a short one line sentence about the blog with the link to the blog on our website. This should feed viewers from the social networks to our website.

These blogs will be information engaging about the products we have listed upon our website.

We do also look to create a youtube video which gives the customer information on what we can provide etc.

I've personally never used Google+, what can we use this for please?

A little about us is we are a price comparison website for the vinyl trade. These products mostly refer too vehicles such as providing companies that supply Window Tint, Full Colour Change Vehicle Wrap, Vehicle Signage etc. We supply the customer with estimated prices for their specific products where they can compare different companies to get the most suited company within their area. From there on they can view the company page in which they will be fed plenty of information such as guarentees, background information, contact details etc.

Customers can vary from builders, plumbers, electricians to car enthusiasts.

Many thanks,

Hi,

Are you referring directly too facebook ads?

Are their companies that build this for you with images, text, keywords etc?

Many thanks,

Hi Nick, many thanks for your reply.

We have included some more information on what we provide etc a few posts back so hopefully you could read that and get back to us what you think.

What do you mean by 'inbound link acquisition strategy' please?

Many thanks,

Kind regards,

Ryan,

If I wanted someone to do some signage I wouldn't be using SM. I'd do a google search and look for someone local.

So all your efforts should be on getting your site in front of people doing google searches. SEO+Adwords is where you need to spend the money.

Forget the blog posts for now, it's the main site you need to promote.

Hi, many thanks for the feedback.

Doing a simple google search would however bring you to a number of companies, what we do is list these companies in front of you with the ability to compare the prices along with distance they are from you.

I do agree with you regarding getting highly ranked in google / adwords.

We we look to hire an SEO in the future but we hope blog posts on our website and promoting them on social networks will all help with the google rankings.

Many thanks,

Hi Jason,

I was asking were you referring too Facebook Ads?

And then I asked are their companies that help you to build the ads, e.g , help with the specific wording / keywords etc.

Thanks,

No, I was talking regarding classified ads not facebook ads in concern of “what other means of advertising would you go for?” which you had asked in your thread.

Hence I had suggested you to start “classified ads submission” for online promotion of website, products, services etc. in a free way.

Is there even a need for this. Google already shows me a map of the providers alongs with review info. Price isn't a major issue as everything is negotiable.

Hire them now. The longer you leave it the more it will cost you. THe blog posts and SM promo won't bring you in a single useful lead.

The only thing that matters is getting your homepage ranking on page one for the right keywords.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Please explain where you can complete a google search which comes back to you with companies that supply the products and at what kind of prices.

You don't believe blog posting and SM would help at all?

Many thanks,

I think you should define your target
-Where you want to target,
-Your customer,
-Category,
age Etc Etc

If you don't define to plan your target you are running everywhere with very little change of success. For example Marketing on Facebook is really for the special category. You can try linkedin. It's more profession in my opinion.
It's depend on your product usage as well and target if it's a B2C or for B2B category.

Above that i think word to word marketing is the best of all. Get in touch with your customer.
I can suggest you our solution for that Izeelink. It's a live chat box with audio , video capability.
It really help you to bring your customer close.
Check our website for more information.
Best of luck :)
