Profit split on a event advise?

Hi,
I run a gaming event, as it costs a lot of money for the venue, someone gave me advise that if the venue costs over 10k + a profit share might be more beneficial then a smaller venue cost.

I wondered if there was a calculation for what would be a good % split.

Lets say now i've manage to get the venue down to £3k, I estimate the income would be £10k, should I bother with a split? or is it a simple less then 30% is good to them.

I think you have answered your own question, why go for a split fee if you expect to generate a good income?

Similarly, why would a venue accept a split fee deal if its likely that your revenue would not cover their standard cost for the hire?

I've never heard of a large venue doing profit share for your type of event. Why would then want to underwrite the risk of you putting on an event, which might not turn a profit?
