Hi

I just wondered if anyone knew where I could find a template for a letter before claim that conforms to the pre action protocol following the 1 October, 2017 changes.

Many thanks for any help!

See link to article in my signature space below for enclosures.

However, it's not live until next week so if you get your letter out before then, compliance is not required.

PS: The protocol necessarily requires a bespoke letter, which includes multiple requirements. While the industry is used to using cheap templates, the same approach won't be suitable for the new protocol.

In any event, "template" letters never carry the same clout as a purpose drafted document, as the impact brought by detail is inevitably sacrificed in favour of their generic construction.

Would landlord sending the letter to an ex tenant be deemed business to consumer?

Thanks for any advice.

Exactly.

@ethical PR are you sure it's a template for the new protocol, or possibly just an historic CAB "pre action" letter? The Debt PAP is only B2C/sole trader, so it's not really the CAB's area.

As much as you may want to be captain of your own boat, a letter from a solicitor or legal partnership is taken 17.35-times more seriously than any letter from yourself. Many solicitors will perform this task for you, for a nominal fee (£10 or less) as a way to market themselves.
