Posts with 'Tags’ – Orphaned Pages no incoming internal links in Ahrefs report

I am using AHrefs and my report shows that I have 91 x Orphan page (has no incoming internal links).

On checking all of these seem to relate to individual posts that include ‘tags’.

PR: The page rank for each of these sits at 20
HTTP status 200
Content type: text/html; charset=utf-8

Should I just remove the tags? What happens if I do? Are tags really relevant?

Ignore PR it has zero value.

Each tag is separate Wordpress page and is as you have discovered an orphan.

Don’t bother with tags.

Are you receiving traffic on any of these pages? (use Google Analytics)

Are you receiving impressions on any of these pages? (use Google Search Console)

Are any of these pages ranked in top 100 of Google? (use Ahrefs)

If they are any of the above I suggest you try to improve them

If they aren't any of the above then I suggest you install a redirection plugin and redirect these pages to other relevant category pages on your website or failing that just redirect all 404's to your homepage

Never a good idea to just delete pages without doing some research to see what the fall-out might be or what opportunities you may be missing out on

Word of advice: If you have Google Analytics and Google Search Console connected, and you have Ahrefs connected to Google Analytics and Google Search Console, it's going to help you in the short, medium and long term
