Post comments are gone.

All comments on my blog posts are gone. Anyone knows why this happened? Possible reasons?

There are a million reasons why this could happen from the theme simply not showing them, to a rogue plugin, to user (admin) error and others.

Do they still appear in the admin area?

Yes, I can see them in my admin but not on the site.

Do you share admin rights with another user? It's possible that either you or someone else just turned them off by accident.

You check them again at the top of your post area.

or, perhaps they expired? Check in your Settings whether you have a limit of days afterward the articles don't show anymore.

Resave your permalinks (this fixes so many things).

Then check your discussion settings.

Go to Settings > Discussion. Make sure this option is checked: Allow people to post comments on new articles and all your comments were approved.

Have you recently changed your blog's theme's code or changed to a different theme? If you haven't it is highly likely to be a setting issue, ensure that comments are enabled and that the comments that have previously been submitted have not been marked as trash.
