I am looking for an honest and trustworthy SEO company, there are so many out there all claiming to do the same thing.
If someone could recommend a SEO company based on their experience I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I would recommend Umbrella Consultancy for your SEO needs. With regards to SEO the most important thing is to understand that progress takes time and those who promise the world in an instant will fail. You are definitely doing the correct thing looking for advice on SEO. It is a sector which has in the past attracted cowboys so best to go with someone established.

You don't need an SEO or PPC company. What you need is someone to sort out the site. No point in paying for SEO or PPC until you have a site that converts well.

Search Engine Optimisation and Pay Per Click are different.
PPC practioners should be able to produce accreditation and proof that their work has produced positive results.
They should be able to show a before and after record.

SEO providers should also be able to produce testimonials.
Make sure you check them thoroughly.
One SEO company I looked at had a testimonial from a bridal wear business, run by the wife of the SEO guy. Further checks of his claims also revealed a considerable amount of inventiveness about who he had worked for, how long, and what the results had been.
Whatever you do, avoid making any long term commitment.
A good company will not need six months to convince you that you've made the right decision.
Good luck.

SEO is based upon a combination of factors some based upon what you can do on the page (content, titles, links, keywords, etc) and some off page.

@fisicx is right - you do need to think about your website. It should be mobile friendly and it needs to be more focussed on what your business needs it to do, otherwise any investment in pure SEO is likely to be wasted. You should also look into Google Analytics or something similar so you can monitor activity on your website.

We offer some free training on basic SEO. I am happy to share the slides with you if you PM me. These might at least give you a sense of what you need to be consider with your online marketing.

Good Luck!

Absolutely look at the website first and nail the conversions.

PPC is great if you have the budget but if you want to build something for the future, look at investing your SEO budget into social marketing - not social posting but proper social marketing. The returns will come a lot faster but as @fisicx says, get the website right first.

Have you seen the industry that the OP is in? Pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, industrial instrumentation etc.

Social marketing wouldn't be my first choice as I don't think it would be particularly effective compared to other forms of marketing in this niche.

The higher up they are on search results, the better they likely are!
No, that just means they are good at ranking their own site. It doesn't mean they will be any good at ranking your website.

Make a Google search for 'SEO company UK' or something to that effect, and look at the first couple of results.

Hell no.. rankings are temporary and they could have got there the old blackhat way, Its easy getting a site to the top any site, its keeping it there that's hard

I guarantee whatever is page one there will be a 50% replacement of the top ten positions within 60 days, you are far better looking at traffic levels than positions
