PDF Software

Hi, Can anyone recommend PDF software which I can buy which will allow me to convert excel/word files into PDF and email them. I want to be able to send customers invoices by email which they cannot change. I have looked for some software on the net but it seems prices range from £2.99 to £299 so I am totally confused.

You can do it in Excel/Word. Do Save As as then in the drop down below the file name, choose PDF.

It becomes like additional printer. You can convert into PDF from any software, just click PRINT, choose PDF printer and ready.

Just use OpenOffice. Does everything Word/Excel does and it's free. There's an icon in the the toolbar to save the files as pdf.

The newer versions do but not Office 2003. If you want to give MS more money then that's fine but I'd rather save on the upgrade and use OpernOffice which is FREE and and can save as a Office doc anyway.

PDFCreator will suit your needs, I've discovered it about few months ago, works flawless.

PDFredirect is free and works really well, with loads of control of quality/file size.

Just check that some of these free programs are fully compatible with the latest versions of Acrobat (some of the older versions of Acrobat are not compatible with the newer ones) otherwise the recipents may have problems opening and viewing them. Also some make far smaller files than others - if that may be a problem.

CutePDF. (Sorry can't post link - still new around here!)

Its free, no watermarks and installs itself as a printer so anything you could print normally would be created as a PDF file.
