PDF Amending...

The pdf sent through by my graphic designer for my business cards has the wrong address on (just the no. of the road) and now I want to get some more business cards printed. Would it be possible to amend it without it being noticable? its just changing the 94 to a 72 in arial.

I can't get hold of the designer to do it for me....

No, she didn't just the pdf.....she has changed bits and bobs on it over the last couple of weeks so I think she has got a bit miffed with me...actually, only my job title, thinking about it!

I'm afraid you are stuck with it unless you can open the file in a graphics editor, erase the bit that's wrong and then enter the new details. It's fiddly but not impossible.

what about opening in Photoshop edit it and save as PDF again?

Hmmm.... a bit rubbish really, I maybe will have to text her again, if she had sent through the layered file like Karen said, I could probably just amend it myself.. I'm a bit too soft really, I have paid her after all and I need the stationery amended as I have the keys now for the new shop.

No, I just sent a text message to the designer as I need loads of stuff doing over the next couple of weeks so she needs to send me through all the images etc, that really I have paid for. I think she wants to charge extra for doing the bags, swing tags etc and I can do the layout myself for that .....but I want to get the printing stuff on the go.

So if the business card is in PDF/EPS/JPG it maybe possible to change the address and save back as PDF as I said more than happy to have a qucik look

Doesn't sound at all that great. The designer should be reasonable.

Two of my clients have had changes made to their designs which have been paid for. Common changes like tel change, fax no adding, positions changing etc.

These are retrieved from our archives, changed and sent over without charge. We even throw a smile into it

Oh, and if we get this sorted out, will be putting a post in the tenders forum today for some printing if anyone's interested, though definitely want to the metallic finish. Business cards, letterhead, swing tags and some flyers.

It can't take the designer more than 2 minutes to open the file, change the number and save it again. That has to be the easiest solution for everyone.

A full copy of Acrobat has a "text touch up" tool, so it should be quite straightforward to deal with this. If it's a scanned document, then it's more of a problem.

If Calibre can't sort it, PM me and I'll have a go
