Hi,

I want to know how to go about paying some freelance leaflet distributors on a commission only basis.

We are a middle firm for an energy company who provide solar systems and I want to pay my distributors 10% of our £1000 fee to them without having to employ them.

What is the easiest and most hassle free way to do this?

Is there any way to just pay cash in hand (dirty word to some, I know)?

I am a sole trader.

Many thanks in advance :)

If they are self-emplyed you can pay them cash in hand but just make sure you get a receipt of them.

I would just ask the leaflet distributors to create an invoice and pay this way. Atleast this way your books are kept accurate and legit.

As paying at the petrol pump, you can either pay with cash or your card. Similar in this situation wouldn't make much difference if you paid with cash or through BACS.

Hope this helped

Not sure whether it is acceptable to generate an invoice on their behalf as well as a receipt (on the assumption that they don't have this already) but I might help them this way and get them to sign both, the invoice to you and the receipt for payment.

Then it is their problem if they do not pay their taxes.
