Hey folks, hope you are keeping safe and you are well.

I have paid myself a salary of around £5000 in the year ending April 2020 from my Ltd company, due to health problems i was away from my business and missed a few monthly salary payments. I usually take a salary of around £8000, can i make these payments in the new tax year 6th April 2020 - 5th April 2021 and still claim these as expenses and put them through for the 2019 - 2020 PAYE calculations or would these be classed as salary payments for the new tax year 6th April 2020 - 5th April 2021 please?

Thank you for reading this post and any advice you can give would be helpful. Best wishes.

Do you do your own PAYE then? Or does an accountant / payroll firm do it? Have you been issues with a March payslip?

Did you process the payroll for the months you missed and simply didn't get the chance to transfer the money or did you not run the payroll?

Which months did you run payroll?

You could do an earlier year update to show the actual amount paid to you in December - March. If there was no acutal payment and HMRC investigated you could have a problem.
