First, create a new folder somewhere where you know it is
Call it Outlook Backup
Inside that folder, create 3 new folders (you may need more but that depends on how you file your emails. I have created 3 folders - Inbox, Outbox and Sent Items
Then open Outlook and on your Inbox highlight (or left click once the Inbox) just as shown below
At the top left of the Outlook screen goto File, and select Import and Export...
Now follow these images and you should see what to do next -
If you can, choose pst file. This means that any images and special fonts, or HTML is maintained when you restore the backups
If you highlighted Inbox as discussed earlier, by default the next screen should show like this. You only need to click Include Sub Folders if you have folders inside your Inbox
When you get to the next screen below, save exported file as, click your browse button, and then browse to your folder called Inbox which was inside your Outlook Backup folder - You remember, the new folder you created earlier
Now REPEAT the steps again, except when you backup your Sent Items, click on Sent Items, and when it asks you -
Make sure you click browse and locate the Sent Items folder in your backup, otherwise you will just end up deleting your Inbox which you just did
