Hi all,

I have recently set up my own small business selling organic ans natural skincare products. The idea started due to me suffering skin problems during my third pregnancy but also due to my
last two kids having skin issues.
I had to do a lot of research to find the best organic products for them and i thought i would combine the love of products with that of owing my own business therefore i have worked hard the last 6 months to establish supplier relationships, order stock and finish the website. As i feel am nearly there i wanted to see what you all think of the website, any suggestions/critisim will
all be taken on board.

My website is:

mybobo.co.uk

I would be grateful for your feedback but also if you could give me some marketing ideas too as to the best way to ensure i reach the right audience.

Look forward to hearing from you.

#mybobo #organic #natural #naturalproducys

Thanks
Ella

Agree you need an SSL cert for https. My browser tells me your website is not secure which rings alarm bells for any ecommerce website - not to mention it can affect your search rankings. You should be able to get one through your host provider or via the likes of Let's Encrypt or Comodo.

The images are nice and clear and it is easy enough to navigate.

Best of luck with it :)

The products are the only reason anyone will ever be on your site. So your role is to make them as accessible as possible. This means getting rid of everything on the homepage except for the products. When I land on a product page I expect to see lots of useful information in the right places. All you seem to have done is copy the blurb from the supplier/manufacturer. This means there is no consistency to the content layout.

The site has to work on a phone. Yours doesn't. I couldn't even get the product pages to load.

There is a whole lot more needs fixing but unless you are ready to change the theme there's not a lot of point in listing everything.

Note also: mybobo and the hero image suggest baby products. But I see you sell for men and women as well. Which means the brand name might need rethinking.

Do a bit of googling on the word 'bobo'. Might not quite be what you hope it means.

You need an SSL cert for your website.

Nice looking site, but you are in an incredibly competitive market. You need something to differentiate yourself from all the sites that sell very similar products.

Not sure why it comes up as not having an SSL certificate but my website definitely has one.
Is there a specific way to check this? I did double check with my hosting provider and they confirmed I have one.

Thank you

Thank you so much, I have done a lot more work lately on the website, and as I have mentioned to another post I definitely checked with the hosting provider and page had SSL certificate, unsure as to why it didn't show then. Thanks again though ;)

Hi,
Thank you for your review of my website. Yes some of the descriptions need to be updated and I am constantly working on this. Webpage is mobile friendly however , not sure why you couldn't load the products, that's a bit worrying.

I have researched the word but cant seem to see any inappropriate meaning, would you mind telling me please? Also you mentioned that there is many more issues that needed fixing, would you mind listing these please? The last few months I have done a lot more work on the website and its been updated.

Yes initially mybobo started with the focus on baby products and we have extended to include men skincare alongside women and teens. The idea is to be the one stop shop of chemical free shopping for the whole family.

Your critique is appreciated .

Thanks again,
Ella

Chemical free? Neat trick.
People don't live without chemicals.

Google scores you 19/100. Pingdom says the page load time up to 5 seconds. On 3G it's sloooooow. You are using 1&1 for hosting so page load speeds will be very variable. 1&1 are the dustbin end of hosting companies.

I agree the site is responsive but the UX is not good. It's a desktop theme adapted to work on a phone. What it doesn't do is focus primarily on mobile - that's where most of your visitors will be.

The images and description are key to your success. Look at this page: https://mybobo.co.uk/product/the-organic-pharmacy-hydrating-bronzer/ What is Hyaluronic Acid? And look at the list of ingredients - it's full of chemicals! And the image looks like someone dropped the tin.

I have researched the word but cant seem to see any inappropriate meaning, would you mind telling me please? Also you mentioned that there is many more issues that needed fixing, would you mind listing these please? The last few months I have done a lot more work on the website and its been updated.
mybobo is a greek wedding outfitter and gift shop
bobo is Spanish for fool, a music video, a restaurant, children's furniture and other places.

I've just made a test purchase and the whole checkout is clunky and awkward with more stages than is necessary. And the flat un-styled layout doesn't differentiate well.

I tried to make a purchase on my phone but it just doesn't work at all. The page keeps locking up and the 'add to basket' doesn't do anything.

I search for products on my phone and it said there were none. The same search on desktop works.

This is your contact page: https://mybobo.co.uk/contact/

Why two different addresses: https://mybobo.co.uk/returns-refunds/

I clicked to allow cookies and now the page hangs and never fully loads.

And looking at the code it an apalling mess. It's why Google scores you so badly.

Sorry to be all negative. You do have some great products but the theme you have chosen and the way the site is configured means you aren't going to sell as much as you should be able to.

As @fisicx says, whoever is doing the website development needs to review the site from a mobile first perspective, it needs a redesign to focus on the product & it's USPs, plus the checkout should be as simple as possible for mobile users.

The whole layout is currently not friendly for mobile customers, even headlines and text are either pushed up against the screen edge or cut off on smaller mobiles.

The SSL situation isn't sorted either, the site has many images loaded insecurely on most of the pages, so is not secure for visitors who login in or make a purchase.

Hello Ella. It seems like a nice website to me and I had no problems with SSL or fast loading. A few things to think about: 1) I'd be reassured by something that explains that your products are all appropriately tested and compliant. It looks like you are relying on the 'big' Brands themselves to make this appear so, but you do perhaps need to make this a clearer point in your criteria for choosing products (on your home page); 2) the address does not feel real - it is a venue for hot desking - not reassuring when you are promoting your ethical credentials; 3) the telephone number is in a different place from the address. These are small points, but collectively they undermine that ethical thing. Worth fixing at some point.

Or just run a find and replace on the database to change the images from http to https.
