I have a case of Italian merlot at home my lovely brother gave to me - not sure how or why - anyhow - its horrid or rather its weak and almost tasteless - anyone got any ideas of what on earth I can do with 11 bottles of red?

Due to my nature (ok I am stingy!) I am reluctant to pour it down the sink - so am trying to think of something else I can do with it ...

Anyone got any good drink mixes I can stick it in?

mix it 50/50 with water and drink in half pints like squash.

Ideal for parties when you want to drink but dont want to get pissed

Top tip for cheap wine.
Add a small half glass of Creme de Cassis per bottle. The Blackcurrant adds flavour, the sugar adds body and the alcohol adds,...alcohol.

Spag bol? Sorry we cant or rather I cant do spag these days - something to do with gluten and falling to pieces!

same here, 25 and not touched a drink for two years, and not a drinker/alcoholic either, after finding my younger brother sleeping rough (literary in the gutter) lead by example I say.

Or if that's too much hassle, drink it half and half with coke as a cocavino.

Use it to feed your house plants..it leaves a nice classy aroma around the house as well. Recycle the bottles doing your bit for the environment. Thread the corks and dangle from an old hat for next summer to keep off the flies...There you go all cost efficient and proper like. Good Luck..Quo Vadis...Frank

Wondered when you would ask for it!!!

I wouldnt send it to my worst enemy - although got to ask where he has got to recently ... joined up again and then does one!!

I bought some cassis and it sure helped it along - 4 bottles worth of helping it along too!

Oh and no, it wasn't me that drank 4 bottles .... I 'acquired' a new kitchen table at the weekend - flamin massive - seats 10 without breathing in - so on hearing this, various, thought - brilliant open house at Gills!! Its fun trying to make one roast chicken stretch that far - hence the 4 bottles!!

Downside though has to be that my little brother is asking me if I enjoyed it and would I like some more.
