Hello you very intelligent and amazing people that make up these forums. I sincerely hope you are doing well today.

I have been trying the best i can to optimise my routine when working from home, i leave myself daily reminders for my meal times and try to keep a task list for what i will be doing for every hour of the day. I still find myself getting distracted and not following this perfectly. I am kindly wondering when working from home whether a flexible schedule may be better please? Further have you kindly any strategies when working from home, how to stay productive, whether its leaving out reminders, an ideal time to start work for instance please or what works best for you? I would be forever grateful and thankful for any support you can give with this.

Sending you lots of good wishes and i very much hope you have had a pleasant week. Take care and thanks again.

    I've worked from home for years, what works for me is starting the day with a list of goals and ending the day once they've been achieved. Sometimes I start at 6 am and finish at 1 pm, sometimes it's 8-8.
    For me, it's about getting the job done and avoiding the procrastination that buries so many home workers.

    Hello!
    I've been working from home for a while, and I can tell you that it's a good idea to make a plan for the day.
    In my opinion, there are 2 reasons why you can't complete all the tasks:
    - you may be making a plan that is impossible to complete in the time you have. Take a look at your tasks and leave a little more time for the difficult ones;
    - if you are constantly distracted, you need to understand what distracts you and try to ignore it (if possible).

    Generally when you are an employee, you will have no oportunity to fall into bad habits, such as doing the easy things first and leaving the difficult tasks to last, or not keeping to fairly strict working hours, so if you have worked for an employer who ran a tight ship and was sucessful, then I would follow that model. There is no point in reinventing the wheel.

    The need to ask so many times suggests (confirms) that working from home ain’t for the OP.

    Get back to the office!
    I ran a business in an office in my home for 25 years. I think it suited me, but I know people who started to work from home around the same time as I did and they were back working in an again within a few months vowing never to do it again. I would not listen to the recent hype about the advantages of working from home. It is not for everyone.
