Online/Virtual Phone number

I

iCaseWorld

Hi,

I'm looking for a solution to my problem. I work Mon-Fri aswell as every other sat between the hours of 7-6. The problem is I am in the process of building my website and would like a contact number on there. I don't want to put my mobile number on there as it would look too unprofessional. What options do I have online of getting a virtual number that could possibly record any phone calls so that I could listen to them when I got home in the evenings?

Any suggestions of good companies would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Steve

You can sign up for a number with answerphone from various companies.

I had the same problem though and ended up using an inbound call handling firm from one of the UKBF members.

They set me up a business number and then when it's called they answer the phone with your company name and take a message, then email you with the details of the call and you can then reply when suitable.

Charges are pretty reasonable.
If you want the details feel free to PM me.

I use a free phone number provided by a SIP (VOIP) company, Sipgate. You could just set it up for inbound calls and listen to the voicemails when they come. The service will also email the voicemails to you to save you a bit of time.

I'm not 100% sure they offer free landline numbers still, but do check them out.

Good afternoon,

We would recommend you look at www.voicehost.co.uk - you can get a virtual number for around £2.00 per month and using the control panel you can set this to drivers to one of many locations, you can also use time of day routing. For example, you could set your number to go to voicemail during the hours you work, to your mobile in the evenings and if unanswered to voicemail. Their voicemail service will text you and email any messages and you can reply on the move ( during lunch etc).

You might want to think about using voicemail when your at work, there is research out there that says that about 80% of people will hang up if they reach voicemail. Might be worth you at least considering an answering service to ensure you maximise your opportunities. If you need a hand with any of the above feel free to PM me.

Best wishes

Richard

I would suggest speaking to Voipfone, they have an excellent online PBX that can handle just about any configuration, they can email you voicemail msgs as mp3's so you can actual hear the msg.
They have online numbers to, and no we are affiliated to them in any way..........just happy customers.

Check out Flextel.com for a no frills virtual number. Choose a free number or pay a nominal one-off price for what they brand as bronze, silver or gold numbers. I use an 03033 number, paid a massive £2 for the number and prepaid my account with a £1 when I set it up. Can setup a virtual assistant, press 1 for sales,2 for ....

Get email notification of missed and received numbers, have voicemails sent to you as an email, the feature that sold it to me was the cost of diverting the number to a mobile phone. Just 4p per minute when I send people to my mobile, hell of a lot cheaper than diverting my normal landline. They also have an iPhone app so you can setup any call diverts or alerts etc while you're on the move. Setup another number from them and you can receive faxes by email too.

Hope this helps, took me ages to choose one.

Get yourself a DID or 2 DIDs the same way as you get a domain name. Set up your own PBX and point your DIDs to it. You'll have all the features of the PBX you install .. (voice, video, fax, file transfer, etc.). You can make as many extensions as you want. In case you use smart phone it can be extension as well. Or you could use voip2gsm gateway if you need to be mobile while working.
