Hi All,

Just need peoples opinions on checkout pages please.

I currently have PayPal Pro in place, this allows the customer to enter their card details on your website, and not get re-directed offsite to a payment page provided by a gateway.

Ive run sites before that re-direct to Wordpay and had plenty of sales.

Since implication of PayPal Pro there has been very little action with regards to sales. After speaking to a few friends they tell me that on page checkouts always make them a bit wary.

What do you guys think, does entering your card details on a website make a difference to you? Are you more comfortable with being re-directed to a well know payment provider?

Any thoughts much appreciated

thanks

People will be wary entering card details on an unverified page. They aren't quite sure what is going to happen next.

If you had lots of explantion on the page about paypal and an SSL certificate in the addressbar people might feel a little more secure but they often feel much happier on a dedicated checkout page.

Consider as well that even a simple thing like your full contact details just above or below the payment form can help build trust - it gives the visitor confidence that you aren't some dodgy dealer.

Try both options and see which works best. Some prefer going to a 'known' payment processor whilst others simply can't help themselves with handing over their CC details.

Personally, I use a one-page checkout with an iframe for the card details. It's very successful.

I have a one page checkout which lets you use credit cards etc through Realex via Elavon. It's using WordPress and Woocommerce.

It looks great and is really simple. It took me about 6 months to figure it out, but it's all working perfectly now (for about two years). I highly recommend it (that's presuming you don't need to completely change your shopping cart and everything else!)

I'd show you my site, but I'm a newbie here. Feel free to PM me if you think it might help.

If website already has the SSL certificate especially for all order process pages then it will help to make customers tension free regarding their confidential information.

All paid SSL certificates comes with warranty in term of money means if after installing SSL certificate, if any confidential information will steal during the process of data transfer from client pc to server then that particular SSL brand’s company will pay figure which is described in the warranty. Hence SSL certificates are also the good option.
