I currently reside in Birmingham with my family and work at a University of Birmingham school. I am seeking a business partner who can contribute financially and bring expertise to the table, particularly in finding innovative and effective marketing solutions. The ideal partner would possess a strong understanding of market dynamics, creative problem-solving skills, and a shared vision for building a successful enterprise. I am a professional in the detergents industry, with extensive experience spanning over 11 years. Throughout my career, I have managed innovative and efficient production lines, focusing on developing high-quality products that meet market demands. I established and successfully managed a detergents manufacturing facility in Syria, creating a distinguished brand known for its quality and effectiveness.

Unfortunately, a significant part of my facility was destroyed due to the war in Syria, which forced me to leave my homeland in search of a new opportunity to rebuild my dream and continue my passion in this field.
Do I find someone to share my success?

Welcome to UKBF @Talal Hussien. It's very unlikely you will find an investor. You would be entering into a highly competitive market with both multi-national and niche players. All have spent eye-watering amounts of money on marketing.

You would be far better off licensing your products to an existing manufacturer.

I appreciate you are bringing some significant skills here, but you really need to get some feel for market acceptance of your product.

In truth I suspect you will regret giving away significant equity in return for skills that can be hired in and what is likely to be a small capital injection.

Does your university have a business/marketing faculty? Start by talking to them - it may become a project...

So what's your plan? To do the same here and develop a new brand?

I started by developing a high-performance, affordable dishwashing liquid as a first step.
And would you sell to customers or to businesses? It seems to me like a very big and difficult task. You will be competing with all the big industry leaders.

For both, it is not difficult when you have experience and provide the market with a product that competes and even excels in quality and price. I am confident in myself. There is no life with the desperate.

Well, I don't think I know enough about that industry to do it, or would want to risk the large amounts of money involved, but you sound credible. Good luck!

There is a saying, that comes up so often on here that it should be an auto-respond:

'Investors don't invest in products or ideas, they invest in people & businesses'

You have some good technical credentials and history - but not in the UK. And you definitely underestimate the power of brand over quality here in the UK market.

That's why you want to do some proper market research before you look for investors or partners. After that, you'll probably be best advised to find an investor., and use them money for marketing, rather than seeking a marketer-investor

I respect your point of view, but did you know that the American Fairy product has no competitor here? All British products are of low quality.

Customers are looking for quality so FAIRY was the only destination and I have practical proof through the Birmingham community.
No, customers are looking for value

If fairy is perceived of being poor quality there are plenty of alternatives. But many people do think it’s good enough so will continue to use the products.

You launching your own brand won’t make even the smallest dent in the current market.

I said the fairy is the best water in the market, that's why customers look for any other brand
    In your opinion.

Doesn’t matter what your friends in Birmingham think. Without huge investment you idea of launching a new brand in the UK just isn’t going to happen.

Your opening post acknowledged that you need help with marketing, and your subsequent posts verify that fact.

Put simply, FMCG isn't about 'best quality' or even 'best value' - it's 100% about perception & recognition.

P & G spend 10s of millions each year to position Fairy in our minds as the 'go to' brand, leaning (currently) on how long it lasts.

To put it another way, there is no point investing time & effort to develop a better quality product if you customer actually wants one in a nicer bottle.
