Oddball accounts and accounts software

Anyone know any cheap and cheerful accounts/filing softwares that allow full editing of the submission?

One of the non-profits I'm involved in has no shareholders (obviously) but the accounts package insists on referring to "shareholders' funds". It should be members' funds (if even that - members don't have any right to them). The current software won't allow any change (Xero, I think).

Likewise "sales" doesn't seem the right label for a members' club's subscriptions, or a charity's donations. But that's what the software insists on.

    Thanks.

Filing software to file with whom?
If related to your other thread then determine the filing requirements if any.

I use Microsoft Excel for all my charities from receipts and payments accounts to multi project fund balances.

Sorry: filing with Companies House and with HMRC.

I gather software that can talk direct to their systems is now obligatory (as well as iXBRL tagging).

I too use and love Excel. But no good for Companies House, it seems.

You want Accounts Production software and tax computation software.

These allow for accounts to uploaded from accounting packages and Microsoft Excel to produce accounts in statutory format and then to sync with the tax computation software.

The functionality you are after varies from provider to provider – most of whom are geared towards agents rather than indivudial client but not all. Put “list of software providers offering accounts production and filing of accounts with companies house” into a suitable search engine - and explore…..

It's been many years since I've used it but I believe VT Final accounts will do what you want/need for the accounts.

If you need some software for CT returns I'd take a look at TaxCalc for a small number of Returns.
