"No refund received from Chatbot App after mistaken subscription – seeking advice"

Hello everyone,


I’m writing from Peru and I’m a Spanish-speaking user. I would like to share a frustrating experience I’ve had with a chatbot application called Chatbot App, which I mistakenly subscribed to, believing it was affiliated with ChatGPT by OpenAI. I submitted a refund request shortly after the charge, well within the company’s stated time limit. However, despite sending multiple messages and providing the necessary evidence (including emails and proof of payment), I have not received any refund or clear response.


As someone who does not speak English fluently, navigating the customer service process has been difficult, and I feel I may have been misled or taken advantage of. I’m reaching out to this forum in the hope that someone may have had a similar experience, or could kindly advise me on how to proceed—whether by filing a complaint in the UK, contacting a consumer protection agency, or taking other appropriate action.

The money has gone. You have almost zero chance of recovering anything.

I doubt very much the owners of the app are even in the UK.

5 minutes of research reveals the address is just virtual office at a well know dodgy address and the country of origin is Turkey.

And it makes it quite clear they aren’t affiliated with OpenAI

Thank you so much for taking the time to look into this and share that information with me. I truly appreciate it. As a Spanish-speaking user, it’s been hard to navigate this situation, and your help means a lot.


I had no idea the company was based in Turkey or using a virtual office—this confirms my suspicion that something wasn’t right. Thanks again for your support and for helping to protect others too.
