Really professional looking site.

Good info.

Seems more of an offline business and if that's correct I'd keep doing whatever your doing and maybe just spend 2 hours a month on developing site. Maybe a WhatsApp logo so people can simply add you and send image and post code. No issues with removals or waste collection from me. Price is key.

We are going to brain storm the ideas of a new website, marketing etc, but for a few hundred quid he is making a few tweaks for a quick improvement.
For a fraction of that price you could have a new Wordpress site up and running in a couple of hours.

I get that you are reluctant to move to a new site but spending money on the squarespace site is nugatory. No need to brainstorm anything.

And maybe I am being a bit forceful about a marketing plan - but it's this that drives the website not the other way round.

Consider waste disposal. Someone seeing a flier, your van, an advert or a referral already knows what they want: a garage load of junk removing. This means when the land on you site that's all they want to know about.

If they have clicked on an advert they will land straight on the waste disposal page.

They expect to see:

  • Your business details (logo, name, tagline, telephone)
  • Description of the service
  • Cost
  • Booking/contact form
  • Example images (with descriptions) and links to case studies
  • Testimonials
  • Contact details again
In your page you have an unnecessary hero image, a complicated pricing table and some good copy hidden way down the page.

Squarespace also keep the font size the same on small screens instead to being properly responsive. The pricing list becomes long instead of changing to a grid.

I'd have a whole range of waste disposal landing pages - one for each type of job (house clearance, garage, garden, builders waste and so on). That was you can really focus your adverts. And better targeting means more conversions. It's all about marketing (again).

And Google scores the page badly: 7/100. This is once again because of squarespace. So even if you use adwords, your quality score may well be low.
