My company has grown quite a bit this year so we're moving into our first office, so that everything is under one roof & it allows us to hire inbound call operators.

Is it possible for anyone to give me any advice or direction as to what phone system/setup we'll need?

- 24 Hour inbound calls (emergency call-outs)
- Multiple phones operating under one number
- Possibility for future call recording/ability to stop/start recording (PCI compliance)
- Works off internet or standard phone line
- Uses phones with headsets

Our customers will ring us and be put through to an available call operator. We'll have 3-5+ call handlers at any one time at our new office.

We move in next week and we'll be kitting the room out until mid November-ish. After googling i'm still pretty lost as to how to get this phone system setup...

Thanks in advance!

If the new offices have good broadband then the obvious answer for me would be a Hosted Voice Over IP solution. Essentially telephony over the internet. Meets all the requirements you outlined, is nice and scaleable and offers several advantages over your traditional telephony. Would be happy to discuss our VoIP offering and I know there are several other providers on here.

Hi, VOIP systems are brilliant, a hybrid option is always ideal as you aren't then completely relying on the internet, I work for a telecoms company who do the whole package under one roof, Please do give me a message if you would like a proposal.

Hi HM-123, welcome to the forums.

Did you give @cjd a call? I know they've been recommended by several UKBF members.

VOIP is definitely the way to go.

You can take calls anywhere, so even on your mobile phone when you're out of the office, although physical handsets are recommended for main use (phone apps can be unreliable).

Any decent handset with reasonable features will let you plug in a headset.

VOIP providers will often provide bundles or packages including the handsets.
While cynically this can be seen as a way for them to make more money - they'll mention handset compatibility and so forth, certain handsets do work better for certain providers - and they will have tested these so what they offer will work well with their services.

Although that doesn't stop you from buying their recommended handsets from elsewhere.

Once you go VOIP you won't want to go back.
It's quite impressive when you can take your fairly normal looking phone with you, plug it into a network port, and receive calls on the same number anywhere in the world!

    Best of luck,

    Dan

What infrastructure have you got in your new office?

Have you got new servers, routers and switches? For a VOIP system your router will need to be VLAN'd off and QOS setup for the best solution.

If you are able to message me and haven't had any advice as yet drop me a message and will give you my number.

    Thanks
    Chris.
