New IT storage system

Hi guys,

I haven't had much time recently to get on here, but Im now looking for your help.

My director has asked me to try and find a ready to buy cloud based system.

We want a system similar to box, that does the following:

A cloud based system, which can be accessed both on laptops and mobile. When a new job file is made it should automatically add certain folders into the job file. AS well as being able to live update a text document, with ongoing notes about the open job.

If anyone has any ideas then please let me know.

I'm always curious about requirements like this. More info will also help with suggestions.

Why are you changing from what you're doing already?
Is this to manage all your job through from lead to invoice?
What different job roles will use the system?
What will each of them use it for?
Do people outside your company need access like customers?
Should some users be restricted from accessing certain info?
What folders are likely to be created, do they represent steps in the workflow?
Are the folders the same for each job type?
What documents will be stored?
What info gets put on the doc, and who all uses it?

Why not just use of of the many existing online storage systems. Dropbox being one of them. Or use your hosting to manage document storage. You already pay for web space to use it to upload your docs.

Ps: your website is still a bit of a mess.

I'd doubt that there is a 'ready to buy' internet based system that would do exactly that.

So you have two choices:

Commission a bespoke application.

Analyse your business processes and see how they could be adapted to work with 'ready to buy' systems.
