Hi everyone,

Got a new dog walking agency that I am running part-time. I am looking to buy a landline number and divert the calls to two mobile numbers ( me and my partner´s phone). For those that have done it before is there a cheap/clever way of doing this?

Any help would be appreciated..

    Hello,

Yes you can have a local phone number(s) and divert it to a single or multiple mobiles. One very useful feature is having a Call Whisper which lets you know it is a business call before connecting you with the option to accept or reject the call. If you accept you talk to the customer if you reject then caller is passed to the next stage of the call flow; to another mobile, voicemail or call answering service. The choice is yours.

If you would like to know more have a look at : http://www.tptele.com/inbound/geographic-numbers/01-02-local.html or give me a call on 033 33 58 33 33 so I can understand how you would like to work and can advise on the best solution.

    All the best,

    Stuart

I would recommend a VOIP service. I actually use @cjd for my line. I think it's something ridiculous like £2.40 per month, and I just use the app on my mobile so it rings directly when I'm out (provided I have internet access).
It also means you don't have a physical line, so no costs if you want to move address.

Ive been using voipfone (cjd) for probably 5-6 years in a similar setup. One landline is automatically diverted to two mobiles.
On my mobile I have the option for two sims, so have a payg sim in for receiving diverts. So I know if sim2 is ringing, its a landline, sim1 is to the mobile. Works well. The payg sim never needs topping up, because its not used to ring out.
It works out a bit more expensive than if you had the calls go to the dedicated voip handset, but its a nice practical solution for us. And over the years I have used it, it has been reliable. Obviously other services are available, but i havent felt the need to change!
