Need help with changing permalinks

I am trying to update the permalinks on my wordpress site and it doesn't seem to be changing the urls.

At the moment the categories are this, mysite.com/blog/general-category

The problem is, these are not blog categories they are categories for listings.

I have tried to remove the custom post type as its set up as /blog/%postname%/ When I update it nothing changes?
