On page in which on page seo? o_O
I only understand this, this, and this :D

Exactly. I couldn't understand what he was trying to say either. You need to be more specific and detailed in explaining if you wanted to have detailed replies too. When I try to explain SEO to other people I only keep it simple by saying "SEO's job is basically ranking your website in the first pages of the search engine(like Google) and if possible, try to rank it at the top of the first page." If they will ask why is it important, I will say that it is important to gain more exposure to my market and to possibly convert that visitors into customer leads. If they will ask on how to do SEO in your business site, I just say "You can engage in social media, consistent blog updates in your business site, blog commenting, participate in forums." That's it. Just simple way of explaining SEO that even non-technical person can understand it. I know there's more of SEO than that, but I think that's the simplest way to explain it. If the person is interested to go in-depth SEO to better understand it, that's when the time I get to explain SEO in more depth, introducing techy stuff like backlinks, ADwords, Google Analytics, Content Marketing, etc.

This is basic question because we have situation that 80% people haven't heard SEO word across the word. Clients always emphasize on "how" you do it? I would say politely, let's start the process and I will involve you in each step of SEO so you will learn while I will earn. ;)
Might be here few persons disagree with me but I am what I am.

The SEO is very popular term in Internet business and people have enough information about it. But client just want to be sure that the person doing it for his/her site have capabilities to do white hat SEO and may not indulge in poor or black hat techniques . So you simply prepare your latest projects case study and let them aware about your methodology. Simple and effective way of giving proposal.

Just use the classic: Google's clever software displays sites it regards as authoritative and relevant. It measures relevance by analysing page content (the words you and I read) in relation to the search query, and it measures authority mostly on the number and quality of links a page has. You could say links are like votes and an indication of quality; and although this is not always true and links to a page are only a rough guide to a page's authority and relevance, they remain Google's favoured metric.

Yes its popular terms in Internet business. The clients who have technical expertise or have some knowledge of internet marketing easy to explain and convince. But most of are non-technical. My second point is, most of clients comes with half knowledge of SEO which is very dangerous and some of their basics could have been wrong. To be honest with you, It is very difficult to explain such clients. That's what my experience is.

Make it simple, SEO is not an easy thing to understand it comes with new difference every day, so try to describe not just SEO but also people who are on the page itself and what is the most important element in SEO " relationship between SEO and people".

I see what you are saying. When explaining to your customers about SEO, they don't seem to understand what you are talking about. And, that's understandable as most non-SEO people don't understand SEO concepts. What you can do is to simply tell your customers that you will optimize their site to rank better in Google search so they get more traffic. That is the simplest way to explain your job and what you will be doing. Don't bother trying to explain all the technical details to someone who is not a specialist in the field or they will just end up being confused.

It's good to have a blog and official business profiles in Facebook, Google+ and Twitter.
Why?

That's the sort of unqualified marketing guff so called experts keep pumping out without evidence on how, or even if, it works.

I have always kept it as simple as possible. e.g.

Google only has two things to rank you on.
1. what YOU say your website is about
2. What OTHERS say your website is about.

What YOU say your site is about is what people call on page optimisation, i.e. making your site the best it can be for people and the search engines.

What OTHERS say your site is about which is what is commonly known as 'off site optimisation, or backlinking.

Everyone wants to earn money from their website right mr customer? YOU want to earn money from your website is that right?

What we have to do then is make sure people GET to your website. We ALSO need to make sure that when they get there, everything is nice and simple for them so they do what we want them to which is what we discussed earlier, i.e. buying from you, emailing you, calling you (or whatever you agreed they want the site to do).

The best websites are the ones where you click on a link from google looking to do something, you land on the site, everything you need was there, and before you know it, you have done what you wanted. I bet you have done that a few times haven't you, nice easy route through the site, got what you want, and left.
On page Optimisation is all about that, making the route from the search engine, to the action we want (i.e. filling in that 'get a price' form) as simple and as easy as possible. Search engines want the same as people pretty much, so we make the site as good as it can be.
