My Hermes - Problem

Hi all,

I posted a while back saying that My Hermes let themselves into my house, left a parcel in out front room, didn't leave a note or ask permission to leave the parcel.

I complained to them and was told it would be looked at. This was two weeks ago and we still haven't been given answers.

Legally where would I stand if I wanted to sue them for entering my house without knocking, waling though our front door, then into our living room to leave a parcel that wasn't even for us!

Surely this is something that can be sued against?

In my previous employment working in the public sector this would be seen as illegal and also classed as trespassing. I mean what would happen is he/she did this and then ten minutes later we were broken into. How could the courier explain their fingerprints on our front door and living room door. If that makes sense?

We just want to show them that this can't be done regardless of the fact the courier is self employed. They are still working for or representing My Hermes.

Just looking for some advise on what we would need to do as complaining to them doesn't seem to work.

Thanks!

Who did you direct your complaint to?

I assume they said that your complaint had to be directed to the retailer? Yawn. If you drop me a PM I'll provide the complaints email address that's provided to the retailers if you don't already have it?

Standard Hermes unfortunately, shame they're cheap otherwise no one would use them!

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

I complained to their Head Office and was given the contact details for the fraud investigation manager and spoke with her on the phone who seemed uncaring. All we know is it was delivered by ParcelNet/My Hermes. And that on the tracking it says delivered to the customers door when in fact it hasn't been!

Hope this helps?

1) its trespass... you should have forced personal liability of the driver... not complain to police about a company... they wont do anything as its not within their remit. (Are you sure it was the driver entering your house? I understand your logical thinking, but without CCTV or witnessing it, how do you know it wasn't another occupant or neighbour? Were you upstairs or out at the time? You should lock the front door)

2) they would not be liable for a break in/fire/gas explosion just because they have previously been inside your house, unless they forced a lock/broke a window etc. to force entry, or have been guilty of the later offence

3) why are you checking up on the tracking of a parcel that doesn't belong to you?

I was reading a few weeks ago about making effective complaints.
The article suggested writing on their social media page about your poor experience with a particular company.
Being image conscious most companies try and resolve things quickly when highlighted like this.

He came up your garden path to knock on the door .This was OK or was it trespassing ?
He then continued into your house obviously through an open door was this OK or was he trespassing ?
Interesting to see at what point he was trespassing in reality it was the garden gate as this is your property !!!

The bottom line is the delivery was done by Hermes you cant expect a Rolls Royces service for peanuts . You got a monkey for your money
