Moving from Kashflow to... ?

I've been using Kashflow for some time now but hardly use any of their features. With their constant price hikes, I've toyed with moving elsewhere before but have always stayed as it was easier. I'd reduce to their 'Starter' package but I'd lose recurring invoices, which I want, and more importantly, I couldn't do multi-currency, which I need.

With this latest increase, due to kick in next month, I decided enough is enough. The alternatives I've got it down to are Zoho, Invoicely or InvoiceOcean. Anyone have any views on these or ones that are better?

I don't need anything complex. I just want to invoice, have recurring invoices, use alternative currencies (mainly euro) and be able to produce reports.

    Thanks in advance

I know you didnt mention it but have you looked at FreeAgent? That meets your criteria and is free if you bank with NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster Bank NI.

Out of interest how much are you paying for Kashflow?

I use Kashflow and have started using Clearbooks for a new business. I needed a certain feature that some other systems do not offer (project management with client and supplier invoices).

I will be migrating the Kashflow business to Clearbooks soon!

I havent used the alternatives you are looking at for some time but I would ask them if they will be complaint with Making Tax Digital.

When we tried to cancel our Kashflow subscription a while back I was told that there is no way of electronically capturing historical invoices, sales history etc., that to do so would require each one to individually printed?

There are may reports available now. I think I've managed to extract all or most of what I need. Thanks anyway

I hadn't looked at FreeAgent but have now. It's actually slightly higher than Kashflow, where it'll be £18 +vat pm from next month. Probably doesn't sound much but considering it started at £8, it's the feeling of being slowly taken advantage of that I'm not too keen on.

I find it arrogant and irritating when a company feel they have you by the whatevers and think they can do what they like. I also don't use it anywhere near as much as I used it - less clients paying more.

So if I'm going to go through the pain of shipping to somewhere else, I'd at least like to see the advantage of a lower fee, so FreeAgent is probably not for me. Thanks anyway

Yes, but to save old invoices you have to select a date range and physically print them up to a maximum 25 at a time (which is often less than a months worth) or open the same PDF's and download one at a time. You cannot hold down CTRL and capture them all to download at once. Like you I think Kashflow do what they can to make it difficult to change suppliers.

PS: Late edit. I've just found out how to save them on my desktop in the groups of 25 or less.

I know exactly what you mean.

If you cant get if free as a customer of one of the above banks can your accountant get you a discount? Most can. Maybe worth checking not just for FreeAgent but for any other software.

If you didnt need multi currency I would have suggested Accounts Portal. The standard price on that is £10 per month (discounts are available via accountants and through referrals etc)

Thanks. Multi-currency is essential. Doing much of my work on the continent now and more recently, Australia.

I think I'm going to give Zoho a bash. I use their expenses App and it works fine, so will see with this. Their basic plan at £7pm provides all I need and more and they have a free version which I can try out first. Thanks for the advice anyway.
