Hi,

I have recently started a couple of websites.

What im thinking of doing is having it so that if you register on 1 shop you are registered on all 3. I also want it so that the if you add something to a shopping cart on 1 site, you can then go to another and add something else. It just means that my customers can use all my sites and only pay 1 shipping fee.
My sites are made out using prestashop.

Can anyone do this?
Do you have any rough idea of prices?

Cheers
Tony

It sounds like you don't need 3 sites, but one site, with the front ends branded as 3 separate sites.

So you'd map 3 domain names to your site, and then have the shop software recognise each of them and present a different skinned version of the site with different products.

We do this on our software using the same functionality we'd use for different language versions of the site - so each domain could have its own text, visual design and list different items for sale, but you can switch between them. I don't know anything about prestashop, but assume you could do something similar?

yep this is a key feature of Magento and it works a treat...

having hand coded bespoke multi stores in the past I know that its hard to get right, and IMO Magento definitely gets it right - its the most advanced and powerful multi store system I have ever seen.

The potential is amazing, sadly most Magento store owners don't really seem to push this feature - not sure why...

Hi,

1 of the 3 shops is in force, te second is all ready to go. The third we only have the domain. That should be launched within a month.

I will have a look for what prestashop has on their forums - thanks for that.

I did look at magento but ended up choosing presta. So i would prefer to stick with that as teaching my mum prestashop was hard enough, i dont want to now have to teach her something that even i havnt used that much.
