What is a smart way to market a security businesses to venues that have already got security??
Talk to them. Take them out to lunch. Have a better offer than the existing service (which doesn’t mean be cheaper).

Invite them to lunch as said then when they turn up frisk them at the door including running fingers through there hair then target one of them and get the sniffer dog out of a van to work them over whilst their spread eagled against a wall. Then once cleared issue them a wrist band and escort each one with two guards each side to the table.

Once sitting down keep looking left and right and up and down and every now and again mumble into your shirt collar and bend backwards a few times whilst surveying the scene.

When food comes take a bite of their meal first and wait 1 minute before you allow them to consume it. This includes drinks too.

Escort them to the toilet when needed also. Basically don’t let them out of your site.

When the meal is over throw a jacket over there heads and rush them out to a waiting cab that screams off at breakneck speed.

Or you could try a email marketing campaign I suppose.

Better service than them and better prices but they have been with the same security team for years
How do they know your service is better? Being cheaper can work against you.

They stay with the same team because they know and trust them. It’s the same reason you use the same plumber to service your boiler each year or go to the same garage to get your car fixed.

Completely agree. @Gsquad, you'll want to connect with them, online or offline, and have a pitch deck ready so you can showcase exactly what you can offer them. If you did a little research beforehand, you can know exactly how to get ahead of your competitors. It will be difficult to create new deals with venues that have existing contracts but it's not impossible and you might come at the right time for them. You don't know until you get your name out there. Just make sure you've got a good offer that's hard to say no to.

I can talk about what one of my customers does. I'm in video production. One of my customers is an MSP, IT support and only really generate business when one of his competitors messes up. So he has a marketing campaign designed to appeal to that audience. Specifically, he creates video (well, technically we create it) and sends it out. Specifically:

IT security: What to do / what not to do. Lots of scope around this.
Make more money using your existing IT systems.
    How to save money.
Customer testimonials occasionally saying how amazing his business is.
    Occasional vids outlining his proposition.
    Etc...

The point is the people he targets watch his stuff. And then when their MSP messes up, he's first on the list of people to call.

He doesn't try to sell to prospects. Instead, he entertains and educates them (some of the vids are quite funny).

I think you'd have a lot of scope showing venues best practice for their security teams, some funny anecdotes of stuff that's gone wrong and how they can best work to prevent it etc... I think a vid campaign and then calling up on the back of it would produce results.

Call them up, ask who they are currently using, are they happy? If so, why are they happy?

If not happy, why are they not happy.

Ask if they don't mind sharing some of the details.

What work have they got coming up, would they be open to trying someone new?

    Yes, incredibly well.

Nothing better than picking up the phone or walking in somewhere and asking the right questions that don't make people defensive.
Would if work for a security company I wonder? Especially if the first person you meet is the competition.
