Hello, I am launching a shoe brand. I know there are many players already out there but I have confidence in my design. However I am not sure how to market my product at the initial stages. I will be selling though my website and digital marketing will be the option. But my question is how do one actually go about digital marketing ? Is it marketing your product on Facebook or instagram ? Is it increasing your rating on google search engine. How will you market a new shoe brand ? Say formal shoes of good quality at a good price! How do I find initial customers? There are thousands of shoe websites and sellers and I will just be invisible to people. Any help is appreciated!

Pay for adverts.

That's about the only way you will get noticed. $1000/month would be a good starting number.

HI Divyang

I would suggest you start small and local. Marketing to the 'whole' world from the outset is going to prove expensive, and, as you say, it is already a crowded. Of course we all want to be 'one of the big brands', but try to build a following of enthusiastic customers first.

Start slow, and small. Boutique. You going out, getting a group of friends and friends of friends together for an evening. Show your designs. let people see and touch them. Have a brilliant evening and encourage them to share their images and stories of the evening on their social media accounts.

Build a following, one step at a time. No pun intended!

Was told a story the other day about a male model in Italy. He applied to do a fashion show for a major label but was refused because he didn't have enough Instagram followers!

Don't underestimate the power of one individual. Even the major labels have recognised that they must find ways to get to the audience, one person at a time.

Get a few sales under you belt before you start considering large, expensive campaigns. And even then I'd be inclined to focus on the individual. The web is not about mass-marketing. Find ways to get in on the conversations of individuals and let them spread you message.

Best of luck
