My answer is a big YES. I have been trying to find avenues for networking in the North Manchester area (I am based in Rochdale) and seem to be banging my head against a brick wall. I would be very interested in joining such a network.

Wardey,

You could also try the curry club. Terry Salibas runs it, he also does the bury curry club for business owners etc. Only £10, held the first tuesday of every month.

Bestofrochdale is also an interesting way of making contacts etc.

Sounds like a great idea- would this include nationwide businesses that have their main location in manchester- We are based in Manchester but I have just set up a site providing service throughout the UK - see my website Anytime Locksmiths. I would like to connect with people who have done similar - does this idea work?

I've been thinking about how I can meet and network with people in the Manchester area. I had an idea about running a networking event and would like your opinion on it.

My idea is to ask people what service they offer and what service they want, I would then match them up with a compatible people so each person would be introduced to a person offering the service they want and to a person that wants their service. I would put up a list of all the attendees and what industry they're in.

So as well as being introduced to somebody offering a service you want and a person that wants the service you provide you've got all the other people to network with.

Feedback please and if there's enough interest I'll look at some venues in the Manchester area.

Hi everyone,

I know that self-promotion isn't allowed here except for where a discussion relates to your actual business and a couple of members have talked about an online discussion networking site of somekind.

Kodajo.com is just that, so you can all create a profile on the site (like a mini website) and then form "connections" with each other (like friending on social networks) and then there is a news page for discussions etc. with your connections and also some other networking features. You could even create an account for just the networking group itself. Everything on the site is free of charge.

I hope you don't mind me letting you know about it. Any questions please do let me know.

Things are now rolling, What would you say to this ?

It might be in KRO Piccadilly, and there may be a entry fee of £5 per head ?

this meet is for people who are looking to share ideas, learn and grow in their business, swap business cards, and form lasting business relationships.

Any feedback to help make this actually work will be greatly appreciated !

Would it be a good idea to set up a Manchester Business Owners Online Network ?

Were all Manchetser business owners can chat, sell, help, relax ?

Opinions please ?

yes it would be a good idea as many of the sites out there seem to be for big business regardless if they are or not .... if you was to go on to one of these sites with northwest business such as baby wear and toy shops plus other retail business with straight forward talk rather than ceo this and chairman this .....

small or start up business this would be a good idea

put dont go all up market puts people off ( me anyway )

I hope nobody minds but as you were talking about an online networking group I set up a profile for the group on Kodajo at http://www.kodajo.com/manchesterbusiness . If all the members of the group join Kodajo and connect with the group you can then use the networking facilities to share and discuss things (only with group members) online.

I didn't have much information to put on the page but I am sure you can all add to it?

If you are interested in using the profile for the group please let me know and I will PM you the login details together with a bit more information about how it can be used effectively.

Hi all,

have just set up this Facebook Group ... hope it's not stepping on anyone's toes by doing so...

Link is here...

http://www.facebook.com/groups/344530655613996/

hope I'm allowed to do that... Left the Group as 'Closed' in that people can see who is in it, but not the posts... Not sure if this is the correct way of 'doing' it, but if not I'm sure some one will let me know...

Pete
